a month agoWe came all the way from portsmouth to Newport news to get there chicken... I brought a friend so he could get livers, gizzards, some sides and of course chicken... we went through the drive thru... it was VERY HARD to understand anything, because it was loud, crackling, and distorted... we paid for the meal and instructed to pull up and they'll bring it out... the parking lot has no constructive parking.. people park everywhere and every kind of way... people waiting for there food order, others just pull up and block in everybody... I asked this one lady if she would move her car a littleand not block the only exit we had to get out the parking lot... she looks at me and asked did I have my food yet, I said not yet, said I'll move it when you get your food until then it's alright... RUDE, SELF-CENTERED woman... now we all were trapped until got her food... the lady brought the food to my vehicle was super nice, and super friendly! Now we waited.. two trucks went off went over the curve which made an opening for me to do the same... I did not eat any of the food, I only experienced the service and stmosphere

4 months agoOrdered the 5 wing dinner and 2 of the wings were so dried out that they're inedible. Possibly refried chicken. I dont know what's going on at this business but a whole new cooking crew is highly needed. Don't come here if you're looking for a good meal, something will be off with your order, guaranteed.

6 months agoLove them bad but it’s getting annoying coming there for them to get my food wrong EVERYTIME I order the same thing everytime I get big chick no lettuce add cheese everytime they give me a big chic with lettuce and no cheese and the older lady in the back use to be so nice but lately have been super rude hopefully I’ll get better service at their other location cus I won’t be back to this one.

8 months agoI been hearing about this place for years. So I tried the gizzard dinner with fries. The gizzards was great the fries tasted freezer burnt. They could include the drink with the dinner but it was separate. Total was $12. They drive thru is a little different they bring the order out to you.

8 months agoThis is a small restaurant with no tables as a sit down restaurant, it's designed to go. You can order inside at the counter or through the drive thru and they will bring your food out if u order thru the drive thru. Good Food! Great fried fish and fried chicken! They have great chicken sandwiches that's very popular!

a year agoThis place has significantly dropped in rating. The wings are now tiny in size and moreso winglets and weren't seasoned AT ALL!!! I only ate 3 of the 5 given in their dinner meal before I decided it was enough. The mash potatoes served with it tasted like cardboard as well.... NO SEASONING... not even a pinch of salt. Decided to try the Big Chick sandwich and the bread was molded. They fell off.... it used to be worth the wait to get HOT, CRISPY JUICY chicken but today was dry.

a year agoI ordered a 21 piece chicken barrel and get home I have 13 pieces of chicken. Now I have to go out and spend more money at Bojangles to feed my family. I asked the girl was 21 pieces of chicken in the box and she said yes. I’m not understanding, yes, I had a large order and it took an hour to get my food. Once I got my food, I only had sides and had to ask for the rest. then I was missing chicken and fries ( a worker pointed that out). I will never go back to this place. Count them, 13 pieces of chicken. Where is the other 8?

2 years agoSlow service. I ordered a meal of guizzards and liver, fries, and drink. Oh, I was so amazed by the size of the livers. When i looked at it closer. Is beef liver NOT chicken liver. Chicken-a-sea needs to be clear of what they are selling on the menus. In the menus, it doesn't say anything about beef liver or any other liver. It took 15 min. For my order to be ready. They need to hire another 2 more personal. They need to wear hair nets also. The Newport News health inspector needs to visit the joint.
